Post Doc

Hanne is a Post Doc in the Marshall lab. She recently finished her PhD thesis titled:  “Colour vision in Mantis shrimps; understanding on of the most complex visual systems in the world” under the supervision of Prof. Justin Marshall and Dr Martin How.

Hanne is investigating the capabilities of the colour and polarisation vision system in mantis shrimps. She uses techniques such as histology, microscopy and electrophysiology to map out the neural architecture of the mantis shrimps visual system and hopes to gain insight into how they analyse and process the large amount of visual signals detected by their retinas.
